Privacy & Email Preferences

How information submitted on this campaign website is used, protected, retained and removed.

What this website collects

This campaign website collects only the information a visitor chooses to submit through campaign forms. Email-preference forms store the email address, optional first name, selected notification preferences, subscription status and unsubscribe token. Contact, volunteer and sign-request forms store the submitted name, email, interest category and message so the campaign can respond.

The site does not request or process donations, payment-card information, Social Security numbers, voter registration numbers or government identification numbers.

Email updates and newsletter processing

When you submit the Stay Informed form, the site stores the email preferences you selected and may send campaign messages related to those preferences. The current newsletter processor is: WordPress wp_mail through authenticated SMTP.

Every campaign email should include an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time using that link, using the form below, or contacting jec@joncasey4texas.com.

Enter the email address you used for campaign updates. You can also use the unsubscribe link included in campaign emails.

Contact & involvement forms

When you use a campaign contact, volunteer, spread-the-word, sign-request or community-action form, the site stores the information you submit so the campaign can respond and follow up. The message may also be sent to the campaign contact address when WordPress email delivery is configured.

Submitting a contact form does not automatically add you to campaign email updates. Email-update preferences are handled separately through the Stay Informed form.

Privacy, security and spam controls

The website uses WordPress nonces, form timing checks, hidden anti-spam fields, login rate limiting and security response headers as part of the campaign security architecture. Hosting providers, security services and mail processors may also keep their own operational logs for abuse prevention, deliverability and site reliability.

The campaign limits administrator access and uses least-privilege campaign accounts where practical. The campaign data steward is: Campaign administrator.

Data retention

Inactive or unsubscribed email-preference records are scheduled for review under the campaign retention setting of approximately 730 days. Contact and involvement messages are scheduled for review under the campaign retention setting of approximately 1095 days. These settings may be paused or extended when legal, compliance, campaign-record, dispute, backup or security needs require it.

Voting information

Voting dates, polling locations, registration status and eligibility should always be verified through official election authorities. This website links to VoteTexas.gov and Comal County Elections for current information.

Campaign website notice

This is a campaign website and is not an official Comal County or State of Texas government website. The site does not request or process campaign donations or payment-card information.
